Key Figures: Thragg, Nolan (Omni-Man), Mark Grayson (Invincible), Allen the Alien, Thaedus (rogue Viltrumite)
Major Opponents: The Coalition of Planets
Outcome: Heavy Viltrumite losses, near-collapse of their empire
This was the largest war in Viltrumite history and marked the first time they faced a real existential threat. The Coalition of Planets, led by Thaedus (a defected Viltrumite), united various races that had suffered under Viltrumite oppression.
Despite their vast numbers, the Coalition’s warriors were no match for individual Viltrumites. However, with the help of Mark Grayson and Omni-Man, the Coalition was able to deal significant blows. Major battles included:
The Destruction of Viltrum: The Coalition, using an advanced weapon, devastated the Viltrum homeworld. This event severely crippled their power, forcing them to retreat.
Thragg vs. Omni-Man and Invincible: Thragg proved to be stronger than any other Viltrumite, single-handedly overpowering both Mark and Nolan, though he failed to kill them.
After heavy losses, the surviving Viltrumites fled and regrouped, hiding among humans on Earth.
Thragg’s Rebellion & The Hybrid War
Key Figures: Thragg, Invincible (Mark Grayson), Nolan, the Viltrumite survivors
Major Opponents: Thragg’s loyalists, Viltrumite-human hybrids
Outcome: Death of Thragg, Viltrumite rule reformed under Mark
Thragg, refusing to accept defeat, sought to rebuild Viltrumite dominance by breeding new warriors. He began using human women to create Viltrumite hybrids, raising an army to reclaim the empire.
This led to a brutal war between Mark Grayson’s faction and Thragg’s forces. The final battle took place on a distant sun, where Mark and Thragg engaged in one of the bloodiest fights in Viltrumite history. After a prolonged, vicious battle, Mark managed to kill Thragg, signaling the true end of Viltrumite tyranny.
With Thragg gone, Mark and Nolan chose to reform the Viltrumites, leading them down a more peaceful path instead of conquest.
Legacy of the Viltrumite Campaigns
Their empire lasted for thousands of years, nearly unchecked.
Their wars led to countless species’ extinction and enslavement.
The Viltrumite War changed their trajectory, forcing them to abandon universal conquest.
Mark Grayson’s leadership shifted their influence toward cooperation rather than force.
